Milan

From the beautiful people and surroundings of Amsterdam, we made our way to glitz and glam of Milan.

We were greeted with the enormous structure of Milan's central station. Inspired by the Roman Baths from an architectual point of view, this is one of Europe's largest and busiest stations.

We were amazed by the size of it! It is filled with four levels of platforms, shops and restaurants. Our hotel was very near to it which made it convinient for us to travel around Milan.

Our first meal in Milan was at a little cafe/restaurant near the Duomo where we did a little 'people watching'. We had a beautiful view of the Duomo right in front of us.

Slightly crooked :P

Next to it, is the second biggest attraction in Milan - Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Home to the expensive brand names like Prada, Gucci, LV and even Swarovski, and fine dining restaurants with prices that will leave your wallet feeling slightly empty after :)

A weird looking statue outside a gallery.

Inside the Duomo.

You had the option of going up to the top of the Duomo to view Milan from a bird's eye view. You could either be lazy and take the lift up or use your legs to climb the stairs. Of course we took the latter option :)

Narrow staircase.

The heart of Milan from above - Duomo Square.

Up close and personal with the architectual features.

At the very top!

As you can see, the sun was shining for us the whole 2 days we were there. Of course being in Italy AND having beautiful weather meant we couldn't go pass the option of eating...

Gelati :) But not just once...

or twice...

or three times...

Ok, four times was enough :)
